Pakistan’s Football Exports Decline 39% in June Despite Strong Annual Growth
Pakistan’s football exports recorded a significant decline in June 2026, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The country’s football export earnings stood at $13.238 million during June, compared with more than $21.7 million in the same month last year, representing a year-on-year decrease of nearly 39 percent.
On a month-to-month basis, exports also fell by 38.54 percent, down from more than $21.5 million recorded in May 2026.
Despite the slowdown in June, Pakistan continues to be recognized as one of the world’s leading producers of high-quality footballs. Manufacturers, particularly in Sialkot, have supplied footballs to international markets and major sporting events for many years, earning a strong reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
Looking at the broader picture, the industry’s annual performance remained positive. During FY2025-26, Pakistan’s football exports reached $256.7 million, reflecting an 11.72 percent increase compared with the previous fiscal year.
Industry experts believe the decline in June may be influenced by factors such as seasonal shipment schedules, fluctuations in global demand, and changing market conditions. They emphasize that continued investment in product innovation, value-added manufacturing, market diversification, and international branding will be important to support the sector’s long-term growth.
Overall, while the June figures indicate a temporary slowdown, the annual export performance highlights the resilience of Pakistan’s football manufacturing industry.
