Lahore Launches Crackdown on E-Challan Defaulters

Lahore Traffic Police has started a city-wide crackdown against vehicles with unpaid e-challans, aiming to improve traffic discipline and ensure compliance with traffic laws.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has directed strict enforcement measures against defaulters as part of a zero-tolerance policy.

Enforcement Across Major Roads

According to traffic police officials, special teams have been deployed on key roads including Mall Road, Jail Road, Gulberg, Ferozepur Road, and Wahdat Road. These teams are identifying vehicles with outstanding e-challans and taking necessary action on the spot.

Vehicle owners will be required to clear all pending fines if their vehicles are stopped during enforcement operations.

Restrictions on Services

Authorities have also restricted several services for individuals with unpaid e-challans. These include access to driving license services, character certificates, and other verification-related facilities.

Officials said that systems such as Safe City cameras, Police Khidmat Markaz, and the driving license database have been integrated to strengthen monitoring and improve compliance.

Types of Violations

Traffic police continue to issue e-challans for violations such as signal jumping, lane discipline breaches, one-way driving, smoke-emitting vehicles, and other traffic rule violations.

Officials have also warned against tampering with number plates to avoid detection, stating that strict action will be taken against offenders.

Public Advisory

CTO Lahore urged citizens to follow traffic rules and cooperate with authorities, stating that an orderly traffic system requires shared responsibility. He added that violations will be dealt with under the city’s increasingly digitized enforcement system.
