Petrol Price Cut by 43 Paisas, Diesel Rises by Rs. 3.47

The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by 43 paisas per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs. 3.47 per litre under the latest fuel price revision.

The new prices are effective from September 18, 2026. Petrol will now be available at Rs. 390.79 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs. 391.22.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased from Rs. 421.45 to Rs. 424.92 per litre.

Petrol Price Sees Minor Reduction

The latest reduction comes after a significant increase in petrol prices in the previous revision.

On September 17, petrol became more expensive by Rs. 6.88 per litre, taking its price to Rs. 391.22. The latest reduction of 43 paisas has brought some relief to consumers, although the overall price remains considerably higher than earlier rates.

Diesel Price Increased by Rs. 3.47

Unlike petrol, high-speed diesel has become more expensive under the latest adjustment.

The diesel price has risen by Rs. 3.47 per litre, reaching Rs. 424.92.

Higher diesel prices can affect transportation costs because diesel is widely used by commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, agricultural machinery and other sectors.

Fuel Prices Continue to Change Frequently

Pakistan has been witnessing frequent changes in petroleum prices following the introduction of more regular fuel price adjustments.

The latest revision means consumers will pay Rs. 390.79 per litre for petrol and Rs. 424.92 per litre for high-speed diesel from September 18.

High-speed diesel now costs Rs. 424.92 per litre, following an increase of Rs. 3.47.
