Trump Says Pakistan Helped Facilitate Iran–US Understanding
US President Donald Trump has said that Pakistan “helped” the United States in connection with recent diplomatic developments involving Iran.
In an interview with American media outlet Axios, Trump referred to Pakistan while discussing international relations and ongoing diplomatic efforts between global leaders.
He mentioned Pakistan’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and suggested that Pakistan’s regional connections and communication channels contributed positively to diplomatic engagement.
According to Trump, Pakistan’s familiarity with regional stakeholders helped support dialogue between the involved parties during discussions related to the Iran–US understanding.
He also spoke more broadly about international security challenges and past tensions between major regional powers, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic efforts in preventing further escalation.
The remarks come after the United States and Iran reached a framework agreement aimed at improving communication and reducing tensions between the two countries.
Officials involved in the process have highlighted the role of diplomatic engagement and international cooperation in moving the talks forward.
