Umar Amin’s century puts Shaheens in dominating position

Islamabad, 14 August 2024: Umar Amin Shines with 177 Runs, Leading Pakistan Shaheens to a Strong Position

Pakistan Shaheens took control of their match against Bangladesh ‘A’ at the Islamabad Club as Umar Amin’s impressive 177 runs propelled the team to a commanding position at the end of day two of the first four-day match.

By stumps, Shaheens had accumulated 367 runs for the loss of four wickets in 90 overs, securing a significant first-innings lead of 245 runs. Saad Khan, unbeaten on 31, and Kamran Ghulam, not out on 20, will resume their innings on the third day.

Bangladesh ‘A’ struggled with the ball, with left-arm spinner Hasan Murad being the most successful, taking two wickets for 49 runs.

The day began with Pakistan Shaheens at two for no loss, but they soon lost Saim Ayub, who managed 11 runs. Mohammad Huraira followed, contributing 39 runs before his dismissal.

Umar Amin then partnered with captain Saud Shakeel for a game-changing 195-run stand for the third wicket. Umar’s innings, which included 23 fours and three sixes, came to an end just 23 runs short of a double-century. Saud Shakeel also played well, scoring 76 runs with nine boundaries.
