Adriana Salabova: Czechia’s Pitching Phenom at WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025
TAINAN, Taiwan — August 2025:
With a blazing fastball and calm confidence, Adriana Salabova is making her mark at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025, becoming a standout player for Team Czechia in one of youth baseball’s biggest global tournaments.
⚾ Europe’s Fastest U-12 Fastball
At just 12 years old, Salabova is already turning heads with Europe’s fastest fastball at the U-12 level, regularly exceeding 100 km/h since the age of 10.
She’s started on the mound in three crucial games — facing off against the Dominican Republic and Panama in the Opening Round, and Australia in the Placement Round.
Despite the pressure of starting key matches, Salabova remained focused:
“I’m glad I stayed calm,” she said. “I handled the game and did what the coaches asked me to do.”
🌟 Standing Tall – Literally and Figuratively
As the second tallest player on her team, standing at 1.7 meters, Salabova uses her height and reach to her advantage, combining physical strength with sharp control.
“I try to focus on my movement, repeat the same things, and hit the same spots,” she explained. “I believe command is just as important as speed.”
🥎 A Love for Baseball and Team Spirit
Salabova picked up baseball at the age of seven, drawn by the game’s camaraderie and teamwork.
“Baseball is the best. I’ve made amazing friends, and I love the team spirit.”
On Thursday’s matchup against Australia, Salabova kept her opponents scoreless through three innings, showing incredible poise. The Aussies only managed to score after she left in the fifth inning.
🌍 First Visit to Taiwan, Big Dreams Ahead
This is Salabova’s first visit to Taiwan, and while she’s making headlines for her performance, she remains humble and committed to improving her game.
With talent, discipline, and determination, Adriana Salabova is not just a young athlete — she’s a rising star and an inspiration to girls across Europe and beyond.
