Solar Panel Prices Increase Across Pakistan Ahead of Budget
Solar panel prices have increased across Pakistan ahead of the upcoming federal budget, with market rates rising in recent days even before any official policy announcement.
According to market sources, prices of different solar panel models have gone up by approximately Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 9,000 per unit, increasing the overall cost of installing solar energy systems.
Updated Market Prices
Reports indicate that the price of a 585-watt solar panel has increased from around Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 27,000. Similarly, a 645-watt panel is now priced at about Rs. 31,200, compared to Rs. 22,000 previously. The cost of a 720-watt panel has also risen from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 33,500.
Industry sources suggest that inverter prices may also rise in the coming weeks, which could further increase the total cost of setting up residential and commercial solar systems.
Market Impact
The price hike has raised concerns among consumers planning to shift toward solar energy as a way to reduce electricity expenses. Traders say uncertainty ahead of the federal budget has contributed to the recent upward trend in prices, particularly in major cities such as Karachi, where market adjustments have already taken place.
