Suspected Mpox Case Admitted to Bahawalpur Hospital for Testing

Health authorities in Bahawalpur have reported a new suspected case of mpox, with the patient currently under observation at the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH).

According to hospital officials, the individual has been placed in an isolation ward as a precautionary measure while laboratory test results are awaited.

Samples Sent for Analysis

Hospital representatives stated that blood samples were sent to a laboratory in Lahore for testing. The results are expected after the completion of the diagnostic process.

Officials have not disclosed the identity of the patient, citing privacy considerations.

Precautionary Measures in Place

The patient is reportedly related to a previously confirmed mpox case. In line with public health protocols, hospital authorities have moved the individual to an isolation facility until test results become available.

Health experts note that isolation and monitoring are standard procedures when dealing with suspected infectious disease cases.

Update on Previously Reported Case

Hospital officials also provided an update regarding a staff nurse who had previously tested positive for mpox.

According to BVH Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, the nurse has recovered and is in stable condition. However, she remains under observation in the hospital’s isolation ward to complete the recommended monitoring period in accordance with health guidelines.

Health Authorities Monitoring Situation

Medical staff continue to monitor the situation closely while awaiting laboratory confirmation of the suspected case. Authorities have emphasized that precautionary measures are being followed to ensure patient safety and prevent potential transmission.
