Dell Unveils Lightweight 14S Laptop at IFA 2026
Dell has announced the new Dell 14S laptop at IFA 2026, introducing a lightweight option aimed at students and everyday users.
The new model combines an aluminum build with multiple color choices, a large battery and Intel’s latest Core Series 3 processors. It sits below Dell’s XPS 13 lineup and is expected to compete with Apple’s MacBook Neo when that device arrives later this year.
Slim Aluminum Design and 14-Inch Display
The Dell 14S features an aluminum chassis that is approximately 13.5mm thick and weighs around 1.15kg, making it relatively easy to carry for users who travel frequently or take their laptop to school or work.
Dell plans to offer the laptop in four finishes: Linen, Dusty Rose, Washed Denim and Velvet Green.
The 14-inch display uses a 16:10 aspect ratio and will be available in two non-touch configurations.
The entry-level screen offers a 1920 × 1200 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate and up to 300 nits of brightness.
The upgraded panel provides a sharper 2880 × 1800 resolution, a faster 120Hz refresh rate and brightness of up to 450 nits.
Intel Processors and Hardware
Dell is offering the 14S with two Intel Wildcat Lake processors: the Core 5 320 and Core 7 350.
Both chips feature six CPU cores and integrated Intel graphics. The Core 5 320 can reach speeds of up to 4.6GHz and includes a 16-TOPS neural processing unit (NPU). The Core 7 350 reaches up to 4.8GHz and comes with a 17-TOPS NPU.
The laptop can be configured with either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5x memory. However, the RAM is soldered directly to the motherboard, so users cannot upgrade it later.
Storage options include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSDs, while Windows 11 comes installed as the operating system.
Battery Life and Ports
The Dell 14S comes with a 61.2Wh battery. Dell claims the laptop can deliver up to 21 hours of Netflix streaming on a single charge.
According to Dell, the battery uses a denser cell design intended to improve thermal performance and maintain capacity over time without adding significant weight to the device.
For wired connectivity, the laptop includes two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with charging and DisplayPort support, along with a full-size HDMI 1.4 port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Wireless connectivity varies by configuration, with support for either Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E. Bluetooth 5.3 or Bluetooth 5.4 is also available depending on the model.
Camera and Other Features
The Dell 14S features a 1080p webcam, dual-array microphones and stereo speakers. Selected configurations will also include an infrared camera for Windows Hello facial recognition.
The combination of a portable design, modern Intel processors and a large battery positions the Dell 14S as an option for students and mainstream laptop buyers looking for a lightweight Windows device.
