FESCO Launches RAAST-Based Digital Electricity Bill Payment System

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has introduced a new RAAST-powered electricity bill payment system, allowing consumers to pay their electricity bills instantly through mobile banking applications without any additional service charges.

The initiative has been launched in line with the Government of Pakistan’s vision of promoting a cashless economy and expanding the use of digital financial services.

Instant Payments Through Mobile Banking

According to FESCO spokesperson Muhammad Saeed Raza, consumers can now use the RAAST (Rapid Account-Based Settlement System) option available in participating banks’ mobile banking apps.

Customers simply need to scan the QR code printed on their electricity bill to complete the payment instantly.

The new payment method does not include any service or convenience fees, making it a cost-effective alternative to traditional payment channels.

Real-Time Payment Verification

FESCO said payments made through the RAAST platform will be reflected immediately in the company’s billing system.

This enables officials to verify transactions in real time, helping improve payment processing, transparency, and customer service.

Expansion of Digital Payment Services

The company added that the initiative is being implemented under the directions of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) as part of a broader rollout of the RAAST platform for:

  • Person-to-Government (P2G) transactions
  • Government-to-Person (G2P) transactions
  • Government-to-Government (G2G) transactions

In addition to electricity bills, FESCO has also enabled RAAST and QR code payments for demand notices, detection bills, and other related payments through a unified digital payment system.

Encouraging a Cashless Economy

FESCO has instructed its officers to raise public awareness about the new payment facility and encourage consumers to adopt digital payment methods.

The company believes the RAAST-based system will make electricity bill payments faster, more secure, transparent, and convenient while supporting Pakistan’s ongoing digital transformation and cashless economy initiatives.

Consumers are encouraged to use the new RAAST payment option through their bank’s mobile application for a seamless and secure bill payment experience.
