Motorway E-Challan Payments Now Available via Raast QR System
Motorists traveling on selected motorways in Pakistan can now pay traffic e-challans using the Raast QR payment system, as part of efforts to promote a cashless economy.
The facility has been launched under a pilot project in collaboration with the National Highway Authority (NHA), National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), and Zindigi – JS Bank.
Motorways Included in Pilot Phase
The new QR-based payment option is currently available on:
- M1 Motorway (Islamabad–Peshawar)
- M2 Motorway (Islamabad–Lahore)
- Islamabad–Murree Expressway
Under the system, motorists can pay speeding fines instantly through any banking application that supports Raast QR transactions.
Faster and More Convenient Payments
Authorities say the initiative is designed to make e-challan payments quicker, easier, and more transparent.
The system eliminates the need for cash handling by enabling direct digital payments through mobile banking apps.
Part of Cashless Economy Vision
The move supports Pakistan’s broader goal of building a digitally empowered and cashless economy, aligned with the State Bank of Pakistan’s digital finance initiatives.
Officials say the performance of the system will be reviewed during the pilot phase before expanding it to additional highways and motorways across the country.
Motorists using the selected routes are encouraged to adopt the QR payment system for a smoother and more efficient experience.
