Over Rs. 400 Million Recovered in Suthra Punjab Corruption Investigation
Investigators probing alleged financial irregularities worth over Rs. 1 billion in the Suthra Punjab Program have recovered assets and cash exceeding Rs. 400 million, according to Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) sources.
Officials said multiple individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. During the investigation, authorities recovered cash, properties, and vehicles believed to be linked to the alleged misappropriation of funds.
Sources indicated that one of the main suspects allegedly provided information leading to the recovery of a significant amount of cash during questioning. Investigators also reported the recovery of high-value property assets, including residential and commercial holdings.
The inquiry is focused on alleged irregularities in program expenditures and operational records between late 2024 and early 2026. Officials claim that discrepancies were found between documented figures and on-ground verification of equipment and staffing.
According to preliminary findings, differences were identified in records related to waste management operations, including equipment deployment and workforce reporting. Investigators are examining whether inflated figures were used to justify payments under the program.
Authorities further stated that additional recoveries and inquiries are ongoing as part of the broader investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds.
The case remains under active investigation, and officials have not issued a final determination regarding accountability.
