Rockies Defeat Angels 8-2 as Unusual Home Run Highlights MLB Clash
The Colorado Rockies secured an 8-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim on Tuesday night, in a game marked by an unusual home run that drew attention from fans and players.
The standout moment came in the fourth inning when TJ Rumfield hit a deep fly ball that resulted in an unexpected home run after the ball deflected off an outfielder’s glove and head before clearing the outfield wall.
The play briefly caused confusion on the field, as players and officials reviewed the outcome before confirming the ruling. Rumfield initially paused at second base before continuing around the bases.
Colorado built a strong lead early in the game, with Hunter Goodman and Willi Castro each contributing home runs. Goodman added a solo shot in the second inning, while Castro hit a three-run homer in the fourth.
The Rockies’ offense continued to apply pressure, scoring multiple runs across the early innings to take control of the game.
On the pitching side, Tomoyuki Sugano delivered five innings, allowing two runs, while the Angels’ pitching struggled to contain Colorado’s batting lineup throughout the contest.
The victory marks another strong result for Colorado as the team continues its improved form, while the Angels will look to bounce back in the remaining games of the series.
