Schedule Confirmed for First Post-Ban Direct Flight Between UK and Pakistan

PIA Set to Resume Flights to UK After Lifting of Air Safety Ban

ISLAMABAD – In a major development for Pakistan’s aviation sector, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced its readiness to resume direct flights to the United Kingdom, following the UK’s decision to lift air safety restrictions on Pakistani carriers.

✈️ PIA to Restart UK Flights from Islamabad to Manchester

PIA confirmed that it is in the final stages of preparation, with its initial UK operations set to begin with three weekly flights from Islamabad to Manchester. The launch is subject to final approval of the proposed flight schedule by UK aviation authorities.

🛡️ A Milestone in Aviation Safety

Calling the development a “milestone for aviation safety”, PIA stated that the UK Air Safety Committee’s decision reflects Pakistan’s strong adherence to international safety standards and marks a new chapter in restoring global confidence in the national flag carrier.

“This breakthrough has been made possible through continuous coordination between Pakistan’s aviation authorities and the UK government,” PIA said in its official statement.

🙏 Acknowledgements and Government Support

PIA extended special thanks to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott for their joint efforts in making the resumption of UK flights possible.
