Saudi Interior Ministry Issues Guidelines for Hajj 2026 Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has released new guidelines for Hajj 2026 pilgrims, focusing on safety, better crowd management, and improved facilities during the annual pilgrimage.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the instructions are intended to help pilgrims perform Hajj rituals in an organized and peaceful manner while following official rules and regulations.

Routes and Crowd Management Inside Masjid al-Haram

The ministry outlined designated routes and entry points within Masjid al-Haram to facilitate smoother movement for pilgrims performing Tawaf around the Holy Kaaba and Sa’i between Safa and Marwah.

Special arrangements have also been made for elderly pilgrims and people with disabilities, including dedicated pathways for wheelchairs and electric mobility services where available.

Authorities further advised pilgrims to avoid sitting in the Sa’i corridor, as it must remain clear for those actively performing the ritual.

Health and Safety Measures

To ensure public safety during peak crowd periods, the ministry recommended that pilgrims wear face masks inside Masjid al-Haram, particularly during crowded times, to reduce health risks.

Officials also emphasized the importance of following all Hajj rules strictly. Entering Makkah or the holy sites without an official Hajj permit is considered a violation and may lead to legal penalties.

The ministry reiterated that compliance with guidelines is essential for a safe, smooth, and well-organized Hajj experience for all pilgrims.
