Antonio RĂ¼diger Extends Real Madrid Contract for One More Season
Real Madrid defender Antonio RĂ¼diger has signed a one-year contract extension with the Spanish club, keeping him at the Santiago BernabĂ©u for another season.
The 33-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2022 after leaving Chelsea and has now agreed to continue his stay despite interest from other clubs.
RĂ¼diger played an important role for Madrid in recent seasons, including winning both the Spanish league and the UEFA Champions League in 2024. However, the club has gone without a major trophy in the last two seasons and is expected to aim for improvement in the upcoming campaign.
Injuries affected RĂ¼diger’s availability last season, limiting him to 26 appearances across all competitions. Despite that, he remained an important part of the defensive squad rotation.
The extension comes while RĂ¼diger is on international duty with Germany at the World Cup. He featured as a substitute in Germany’s opening match, a 7-1 victory over Curaçao.
Real Madrid continues to undergo changes ahead of the new season, with squad adjustments and management decisions aimed at strengthening the team.
RĂ¼diger’s new deal ensures continuity in the club’s defensive options as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
