FIA Arrests Two Suspects in Alleged Diesel Theft Case Linked to PSO Pipeline
Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in coordination with Pakistan State Oil (PSO), has taken action against an alleged fuel theft network operating near Sihala, arresting two suspects during a raid.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the operation was carried out near Jump Stop, Bhaga Sihala, following information received by investigators.
Illegal Pipeline Discovered
Authorities said the suspects had allegedly installed an unauthorized underground pipeline connected to the PSO-ARL Sihala main pipeline to extract diesel.
The fuel was reportedly collected in drums and later transported for illegal sale, according to the investigation.
Investigation Underway
Officials believe the operation may have been active for the past five to six months. Preliminary findings suggest that a significant quantity of diesel may have been stolen during this period.
PSO has estimated financial losses exceeding Rs. 100 million, while investigators are continuing to assess the full extent of the alleged theft.
Vehicles and Equipment Seized
During the raid, authorities recovered:
- An unauthorized underground pipeline.
- Two Shehzore pickup trucks.
- Multiple drums and storage tanks containing diesel.
The seized items have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
Further Action Expected
The FIA has registered a case against the arrested suspects and stated that investigations will continue to determine whether any additional individuals or facilitators were involved.
Officials say further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
