Canada Unveils Strong Athletics Team for Commonwealth Games 2026

Canada has announced its athletics squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with Olympic champions Andre De Grasse and Camryn Rogers leading a talented team set to compete in Glasgow, Scotland.
The athletics competition will be one of the highlights of the Games, scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 2, bringing together top athletes from across the Commonwealth.
Andre De Grasse, one of Canada’s most accomplished sprinters, is set to compete in the men’s 4x100m relay. He will reunite with teammates Aaron Brown, Brendon Rodney and Jerome Blake, the quartet that achieved Olympic success in recent years.
Speaking about the team’s prospects, De Grasse expressed confidence in Canada’s chances, highlighting the experience and quality within the relay squad.
On the women’s side, Olympic hammer throw champion Camryn Rogers will aim to defend the Commonwealth Games title she won in 2022. Rogers enters the competition as one of the leading contenders in her event.
Canada’s roster also includes several other accomplished athletes, including Olympic hammer throw champion Ethan Katzberg, decathlon star Damian Warner and shot put specialist Sarah Mitton, who will look to retain her Commonwealth Games crown.
The team features a mix of experienced Olympians and emerging talent. Among the rising stars is sprinter Audrey Leduc, who will compete in the women’s 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay events after gaining valuable experience on the international stage.
Overall, Canada’s athletics contingent includes 25 Olympians, reflecting the country’s strength across a wide range of track and field disciplines.
Canada enjoyed a successful campaign at the previous Commonwealth Games, winning 26 gold medals across all sports. With another strong squad heading to Glasgow, the nation will be aiming to add to its impressive record and challenge for more podium finishes.
