Seth Jarvis Scores Overtime Winner as Carolina Evens Stanley Cup Final Against Vegas

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in overtime in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night, leveling the series after a dramatic comeback performance.

Seth Jarvis scored the decisive goal on a power play 3:56 into overtime, completing Carolina’s recovery after they fought back from a two-goal deficit during regulation.

The game featured a highly competitive third period, with multiple lead changes, four goals scored, and one disallowed goal due to goaltender interference. The late action kept the match closely contested until the final moments of regulation.

Carolina’s victory also marked a rare achievement, as they became the first team since 1994 to win a Stanley Cup Final game after trailing by multiple goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation.

Jarvis, who has contributed key goals during the playoffs, said the team maintained composure despite the pressure of the high-stakes situation and continued responding to challenges throughout the game.

The Hurricanes struggled for much of the opening stages, falling behind early as Vegas capitalized on scoring opportunities and maintained strong defensive structure.

However, Carolina gradually increased their offensive pressure in the third period, generating momentum and ultimately forcing the game into overtime.

The series is now tied 1-1, with Game 3 scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The result guarantees that the Stanley Cup Final will return to Raleigh for at least one more game later in the series.

Both teams now head into the next matchup with momentum evenly balanced after two closely contested games.
