Fuel Shortage Causes Sharp Increase in Petrol Prices in Parts of Balochistan

Petrol and diesel prices have risen significantly in several areas of Balochistan due to an ongoing fuel shortage that has affected supply across the province.

According to reports, districts including Nushki, Kharan, and Loralai have witnessed unusually high fuel prices as limited supplies have created challenges for motorists and transport operators.

In Quetta, some filling stations temporarily suspended operations because of supply constraints, while others experienced increased customer demand. Long queues were reported at several fuel stations as residents sought to secure fuel for daily use.

Officials stated that disruptions in fuel availability, coupled with transportation challenges in remote regions, have contributed to the shortage. The situation has been more noticeable in districts that rely heavily on external fuel supplies.

Petroleum Dealers Association President Qayamuddin Agha said additional fuel supplies from Shikarpur have been arranged to help improve availability. He expressed optimism that the situation could stabilize in the coming days as new shipments reach affected areas.

The Deputy Commissioner of Quetta noted that the suspension of Iranian fuel supplies has also impacted fuel availability in some parts of the province. He added that approximately 600,000 liters of petrol were supplied to filling stations in Quetta on Wednesday to support local demand.

Authorities are continuing efforts to restore normal fuel distribution and improve supply conditions across the province.
