Khurram Shahzad Fires Worcestershire into One-Day Cup Final
Worcester: Worcestershire booked their place in the One-Day Cup final with a commanding 131-run (DLS) victory over Somerset, thanks to an outstanding spell from Pakistan fast bowler Khurram Shahzad.
Shahzad’s Brilliant Opening Burst
On his debut county season, the 25-year-old seamer produced figures of 4 for 36, ripping through Somerset’s top order. His early strikes removed Tom Lammonby, Lewis Goldsworthy, Archie Vaughan, and Thomas Rew, leaving the visitors reeling at 108 for 7 before rain interrupted play.
Somerset eventually folded for just 141 all out, sealing Worcestershire’s place in the final on September 20 at Trent Bridge.
Worcestershire’s Strong Total
Earlier, Worcestershire had posted a competitive 275 for 9 after being sent in to bat.
