Pakistan Football Federation Considers Adeel Rizki for Men’s Team Coaching Role
Karachi – Pakistan football may soon see a familiar name bridging its men’s and women’s national setups. According to sports journalist Faizan Lakhani, Adeel Rizki, the current head coach of the Pakistan women’s football team, is under consideration for a key role with the men’s national side.
Rizki could be appointed as assistant coach to newly hired head coach Norberto Solano, the former Peru captain and Newcastle United midfielder. The move comes as Pakistan looks to strengthen its coaching staff after parting ways with Mehmood Khan and Gohar Zaman.
Rizki has been widely credited with helping to revitalize women’s football in Pakistan, guiding the team through significant progress at both grassroots and professional levels. His possible shift to the men’s setup would mark a significant milestone — blending his local expertise with Solano’s international experience.
For Rizki, the appointment would not only be a personal achievement but also recognition of the growth of Pakistan’s women’s football under his leadership. For the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), it reflects a broader strategy to create stronger synergy between men’s and women’s programs while building a unified football structure.
A final decision on Rizki’s appointment is expected soon, as Solano finalizes his backroom staff ahead of Pakistan’s upcoming international fixtures.
