Sidra Amin Creates History in Pakistan Women’s Cricket with Record-Breaking ODI Series

Lahore – Pakistan’s women’s cricket team may have lost their ODI series against South Africa, but the spotlight belonged to Sidra Amin, who delivered one of the greatest batting performances in the country’s history.

The 33-year-old opener rewrote the record books, scoring an unbeaten 121 in the first ODI on September 16, a commanding 122 in the second game on September 19, and finishing with a steady 50 not out on September 22. Her consistency helped Pakistan secure their only win of the series and left her with an extraordinary tally of 293 runs at an average of 293 across three matches — the highest aggregate ever by a Pakistani batter in a women’s bilateral ODI series.

Sidra’s dominance is no surprise. She already holds nearly every major WODI batting record for Pakistan. With six centuries — twice as many as the rest of the squad combined — she also boasts the highest career average among Pakistani women and a personal best of 176 runs*, well ahead of her peers.

In just 77 games, Sidra has amassed 2,271 ODI runs, putting her on track to surpass the all-time national record held by Bismah Maroof, who has 3,369 runs from 132 innings.

Her form comes at a crucial time, with the ICC Women’s World Cup approaching. Pakistan’s hopes of competing against top international sides will rely heavily on Sidra’s stability at the top of the order.

For now, her legacy is secure: 293 runs in three games, the most ODI centuries for Pakistan, and an enduring inspiration for the next generation. Sidra Amin hasn’t just raised the standard of women’s cricket in Pakistan — she has redefined it.
