Pakistan Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall and Hailstorms Expected in Coming Days
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast heavy rainfall and hailstorms in several parts of the country over the coming days, warning of unstable weather conditions in multiple regions.
Officials said weather activity is expected to intensify in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern areas, while other regions may continue to experience hot and dry conditions.
Rain and hail forecast for Punjab
According to the Met Office, several areas of Punjab are likely to receive rain, with some locations also expected to experience hailstorms.
In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, rainfall is expected later in the day, while showers are also forecast for Murree, the Galyat region, and surrounding districts.
Other areas that may experience rain include Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, and nearby districts.
Weather outlook for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, authorities have predicted heavy rain and hailstorms in several regions, including Dir, Swat, Malakand, Chitral, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, and surrounding districts.
Officials have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious due to the risk of strong winds and localised flooding.
Hot and dry conditions in Sindh and parts of Balochistan
Most districts in Sindh are expected to remain hot and dry, although scattered rainfall is possible in areas such as Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and surrounding regions.
In Balochistan, southern districts are likely to continue experiencing high temperatures. However, rainfall is also forecast in selected areas including Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Khuzdar, and nearby districts.
Advisory issued for public safety
The Met Office has advised citizens to take precautionary measures during periods of heavy rain and hail, warning of possible waterlogging in low-lying areas, temporary disruption of transport, and reduced visibility on roads.
Authorities have urged the public to stay updated with official weather alerts and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
