Electricity Prices Reduced Across Pakistan Under NEPRA Quarterly Adjustment
Electricity consumers across Pakistan are set to receive relief after the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved a reduction of Rs. 1.99 per unit in electricity tariffs.
According to an official notification, the reduction has been made under the quarterly adjustment mechanism for the January to March 2026 period.
The revised tariff will remain in effect for three months, from June to August 2026, and will apply to all consumer categories across the country, including customers of K-Electric.
NEPRA stated that the adjustment will provide an estimated total relief of around Rs. 67.17 billion to electricity consumers during the three-month period.
The quarterly adjustment process allows the regulator to review actual power generation costs and compare them with previously approved rates. Any difference is then passed on to consumers in the form of either a surcharge or a reduction in tariffs.
Officials expect the latest reduction to help lower monthly electricity bills for households and businesses across Pakistan during the summer season, when energy consumption typically rises.
The adjustment is part of NEPRA’s ongoing mechanism to ensure tariff stability and reflect changes in power generation costs in the national grid.
