Pakistan, Turkiye, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Hold Joint Military Exercise
ISLAMABAD: Special forces from Pakistan, Turkiye, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan participated in a multinational military training exercise in Uzbekistan aimed at improving coordination and professional capabilities.
The Eternal Brotherhood-5 exercise was held from September 13 to 25, 2026, according to state-run media. Kazakhstan participated as an observer.
Focus on Cooperation and Training
The exercise provided an opportunity for participating special forces to strengthen communication and cooperation while sharing professional experience.
According to the report, the forces exchanged knowledge related to modern military operations, combat strategies and approaches to addressing security challenges.
The exercise also highlighted the growing defence and security cooperation among the participating countries and their efforts to strengthen military-to-military relations.
Pakistan Continues Joint Exercises
Pakistan regularly participates in military training activities with partner countries as part of bilateral and multilateral defence cooperation.
Earlier this year, Pakistan and Egypt completed a two-week joint military exercise focused on counter-terrorism training. In January, Pakistan and the United States also held their 13th bilateral joint exercise, Inspired Gambit 2026, with a focus on counter-terrorism.
Pakistan and Kazakhstan conducted a two-week joint counter-terrorism exercise in October 2025, while Pakistan and Uzbekistan have also agreed to continue cooperation through joint exercises, professional training and the exchange of military experience.
In addition, Pakistan, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia recently agreed to establish a mechanism for joint military training under their trilateral defence cooperation framework.
