The Election Tribunal has ordered re-polling at seven polling stations in the constituency of Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Langau.
The tribunal also declared Langau ineligible to hold public office, effectively removing him from his position as Home Minister.
The decision came in response to a petition filed by Mir Saeed Langove, who accused the now-disqualified minister of electoral fraud. After investigating, the tribunal found irregularities in the electoral process, leading to the order for re-polling in the affected areas.
In a related matter, Gohram Bugti of the Jamhoori Watan Party has contested the election victory of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti. Gohram Bugti’s petition challenges Sarfaraz Bugti’s eligibility to run for office, arguing that his role in the caretaker cabinet should have disqualified him. The petition also alleges that Sarfaraz Bugti influenced the election by arranging for favorable polling staff and achieving unusually high vote counts in certain areas.
Gohram Bugti has requested thumb verification of voters and urged the tribunal to declare the PB-10 seat vacant, which would lead to a by-election.
