Former Pakistani Badminton Champion Wins Canadian Masters Women’s Title

Former Pakistan national badminton champion Pulwasha Bashir has claimed the Women’s 35+ Singles title at the Canadian Masters tournament after defeating Canada’s top-seeded player Anna Rice in the final.

She competed against more than 300 international players from countries including Indonesia, India, and Canada, and described the event as a memorable and valuable experience.

In her post-match remarks, she said the victory marked a new chapter in her career, adding that her competitive spirit and passion for the sport remain strong despite moving into Masters-level events.

Pulwasha thanked her coaches, mentors, teammates, and family for their support and dedicated the win to them. She also confirmed that she continues to stay active in coaching while still pursuing competitive badminton.

Hailing from Karachi, she has previously represented Pakistan in major international competitions including the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games, and has also won multiple national titles during her career.
