South Africa Confirms Venues for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027
Cricket’s biggest stage is returning to southern Africa, with Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirming eight venues to host 44 of the 54 matches in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. The remaining matches will be played in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The South African venues include Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, East London, and Paarl, each with a rich cricketing heritage. The 2027 World Cup marks a major homecoming, as the last ICC men’s tournament hosted in the country was the 2009 Champions Trophy, while the World Cup itself last visited in 2003. South Africa also hosted the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and launched the first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007.
For Pakistan fans, the tournament holds special significance, recalling the team’s historic campaigns in Africa, including the 2003 World Cup and the 2007 T20 heartbreak in Johannesburg. By 2027, Pakistan will aim to adapt to African pitches and conditions, with all eyes on their performance.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 promises thrilling cricket action and a platform for the next generation of stars from Pakistan and across the world to make history.
