Jan Paul Rivera Extends Unbeaten Streak With Knockout Victory in Orlando
Puerto Rican featherweight Jan Paul Rivera kept his perfect record intact with a sixth-round stoppage win over Daniel Bailey in the main event of Most Valuable Prospects 14, held Friday night at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando. The event was promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and streamed live on DAZN.
Rivera (13-0, 7 KOs) showed his power early, dropping Bailey toward the end of the opening round with a sharp left hook. Although Bailey recovered well and boxed smartly behind a defensive shell, Rivera’s steady pressure and accuracy eventually proved too much.
In the sixth round, Rivera connected with a series of clean punches that forced the referee to step in and wave off the contest at 2:58 of the round. Bailey fell to 15-3 (8 KOs).
