JAMSHORO: The education of thousands of children in Sindhโ€™s Jamshoro district is at risk as 214 schools have been declared unsafe following recent floods and heavy monsoon rains.

According to the Education Works Department, the affected buildings are in such poor condition that they endanger both students and teachers. Authorities have directed the Education Department to shift classes to alternative facilities to ensure safety.

Schools Affected

  • 172 primary schools

  • 42 higher secondary boysโ€™ schools
Together, these institutions serve more than 10,000 students across the district.

Despite the warnings, many classes are still being conducted in unsafe buildings, raising concerns among parents and education activists.

Local residents have urged the government to take urgent action by relocating students and repairing damaged infrastructure so that education can continue without putting lives at risk.
