Severe Weather Disrupts Daily Life Across Pakistan

Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds affected several regions of Pakistan, causing disruptions to transportation, electricity supply, and public services, according to officials.

Authorities reported casualties and injuries in multiple areas as emergency response teams carried out rescue and relief operations. Provincial disaster management agencies have begun assessing the impact of the weather conditions and coordinating assistance for affected communities.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that weather-related incidents during the past 24 hours resulted in casualties and injuries in several districts. Bannu recorded the highest number of incidents, where strong winds and rain damaged residential structures.

Additional incidents were reported in Peshawar, Nowshera, and Charsadda, where emergency services responded to weather-related emergencies, including damaged infrastructure and fallen utility equipment.

Rescue 1122 teams remained active across affected areas, clearing roads, restoring access routes, and providing assistance to injured individuals.

Sindh also experienced significant weather-related disruptions. Strong winds and rainfall affected multiple districts, including Kashmore, Nawabshah, Qambar Shahdadkot, Dharki, and Ghotki. Local authorities reported damage to homes, electricity infrastructure, and solar energy systems in several areas.

Qazi Ahmed was among the districts most affected by the adverse weather, with reports of structural damage and interruptions to public services. Restoration work is ongoing in affected localities.

Weather-related incidents were also reported from parts of Punjab, Islamabad, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where local administrations and emergency services responded to damage caused by storms and lightning.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast that the current weather system may continue for the next two days. Disaster management authorities have advised residents to follow official weather updates, avoid unnecessary travel during severe conditions, and remain cautious around damaged structures and utility installations
