AJK Voter List Expands by Over 580,000 Ahead of Upcoming Elections

The number of registered voters in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has increased by more than 580,000 since the 2021 elections, according to updated electoral rolls issued by the Election Commission.

The revised data shows that the total electorate across AJK’s 45 constituencies now stands at 3,804,385 voters, compared to 3,220,546 in the previous election cycle.

Officials said the increase reflects updated registrations and demographic changes over the past five years ahead of the upcoming legislative assembly elections.

Breakdown of Voter Numbers

According to the Election Commission, 3,365,839 voters are registered in 33 territorial constituencies within AJK, while 438,546 voters are registered in 12 constituencies reserved in Pakistan for refugees from Jammu and Kashmir.

In the 2021 elections, the total number of registered voters was significantly lower, indicating a steady rise in the electorate across both regional and refugee constituencies.
