PCB Announces Red-Ball and White-Ball Training Camps for 49 Players
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced separate red-ball and white-ball training camps at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore as part of preparations for upcoming international and domestic cricket assignments.
A total of 49 players have been selected for the two camps, which will focus on improving technical skills, fitness levels, and overall match readiness.
Red-Ball Camp
The red-ball camp will feature 22 players and is scheduled to run from June 8 to July 10.
Several experienced players have been included in the squad, including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Imam-ul-Haq, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Abbas.
According to the PCB, players who recently participated in Pakistan’s ODI series against Australia and are part of the red-ball camp will join the training programme from June 15.
White-Ball Camp
The white-ball camp will involve 27 players and will continue from June 15 to September 18.
Notable players selected for the camp include Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Haider Ali, and Usman Khan.
The extended training programme is aimed at helping players prepare for future limited-overs competitions and international fixtures.
Focus on Skills and Fitness
The PCB stated that both camps will provide players with opportunities to work closely with national and NCA coaching staff. Training sessions will focus on technical development, physical conditioning, and improving performance standards.
Players will also participate in individual coaching sessions designed to enhance their understanding of the demands of modern international cricket.
Continued Development Programme
The board noted that similar red-ball and white-ball camps were recently conducted ahead of Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh and the ODI series against Australia.
These training programmes are part of the PCB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the player development pathway and prepare cricketers for upcoming challenges at both domestic and international levels.
