Ishaq Dar Travels to Cairo for Quadrilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has left for Cairo, Egypt, to attend a quadrilateral meeting of foreign ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and TĂĽrkiye.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar departed from Islamabad on Saturday and will participate in the fourth edition of the R-4 foreign ministers’ meeting, scheduled for June 21.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the participating countries. He will additionally meet Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the sidelines of the conference.
The Foreign Office stated that the meeting will provide an opportunity for the participating countries to discuss regional developments and exchange views on issues related to peace, security, and stability.
Officials noted that the ministers will also review progress made in earlier R-4 meetings and explore ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and TĂĽrkiye continue to emphasize the importance of dialogue and coordination under the R-4 framework to promote regional peace and stability.
Earlier in March, Pakistan hosted a similar meeting in Islamabad, where foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, TĂĽrkiye, and Egypt also participated in discussions on regional issues, including developments in the Middle East.
