Saudi Arabia Expected to Create Up to 400,000 Job Opportunities for Pakistanis
Pakistan is preparing to train and deploy up to 400,000 workers for upcoming development projects in Saudi Arabia, particularly those linked to preparations for the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
According to official sources, workforce planning is being aligned with the expected demand for labor in major sectors such as construction, infrastructure, aviation, tourism, and related services between 2026 and 2034.
The initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to expand overseas employment opportunities and improve the skill level of its workforce for international markets. Authorities estimate that between 300,000 and 400,000 workers may be required to support large-scale development projects in Saudi Arabia during this period.
Reports suggest that overseas employment continues to play a key role in Pakistan’s economy. Hundreds of thousands of workers receive training each year to improve their skills, productivity, and readiness for foreign job markets.
In recent years, a large number of Pakistani workers have been registered for employment abroad, with Gulf countries remaining the primary destination. Saudi Arabia continues to be the leading employer of Pakistani workers, followed by the United Arab Emirates.
Officials say that ongoing reforms aim to improve recruitment systems, enhance training programs, and make the overseas employment process more transparent and efficient.
The expected increase in job opportunities is seen as part of Saudi Arabia’s long-term development plans, which include major infrastructure and service sector expansion ahead of global sporting events.
Authorities in Pakistan hope that better coordination and skill development will help workers secure higher-quality employment opportunities and contribute to increased remittances for the country.
