FAISALABAD: Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is determined to make a strong return to the national team by showcasing his talent in the ongoing Champions Cup.
In a recent interview with Geo News and The News, Faheem discussed his cricketing journey and his aspirations for a national comeback. He emphasized his ongoing efforts to enhance his performance and remain driven in his cricket career.
“I am never fully satisfied with my performances,” Faheem said. “My aim is to continually improve and perform better each time. I strive to give my best for whichever team I represent.”
The 29-year-old cricketer expressed his commitment to the game as long as he maintains his energy and fitness. “I will keep playing cricket as long as I have the drive. When that fades, I’ll step away from the game,” he added.
Regarding the Champions Cup, Faheem highlighted its importance as a significant event marking the start of the cricket season. “This tournament is crucial for all players, as it features top competitors and provides a pivotal opportunity for many.
It’s a chance for players to make a mark,” he explained. Faheem noted that players enter the tournament with varying goals, whether aiming for a comeback, securing their spots, or making an impression to attract selectors and franchise teams.
Faheem is focused on using his performances in the Champions Cup to secure a spot in the upcoming Champions Trophy. “My goal is to perform well here and earn a place in the Champions Trophy squad,” he said.
He acknowledged that cricket careers have their highs and lows, but believes that a standout performance can open many doors. “What’s meant to be will happen. If opportunities don’t come despite performing well, it can be disheartening. However, I try to stay positive and focused,” Faheem concluded.
