Pakistan International Otis Khan Joins Malaysian Side Kelantan Red Warriors
Otis Khan, a prominent name in Pakistani football, is set to begin a new chapter in his professional career by joining the Kelantan Red Warriors, a club competing in Malaysia’s second-tier league.
This move marks the first time the 29-year-old winger will play club football outside of England, expanding Pakistan’s growing footprint in Southeast Asian football. Khan becomes only the second Pakistani international to feature in Malaysian football, following in the footsteps of veteran defender Zesh Rehman.
The Kelantan Red Warriors, based in the northeastern Malaysian state of Kelantan, were established in December 2024. Despite being a relatively new club, they have ambitious plans for the future. With eyes firmly set on promotion to Malaysia’s top division, the addition of Otis Khan is seen as a key move to strengthen their squad with international experience and attacking depth.
Khan is a product of the Manchester United youth academy and has spent the majority of his career in the English Football League. His previous clubs include Yeovil Town, Mansfield Town, Tranmere Rovers, and Oldham Athletic.
The transfer holds broader significance beyond club football. With changes expected in the coaching setup of Pakistan’s national team, Khan’s return to international action appears likely. His presence in Malaysia may also pave the way for more Pakistani talent to explore professional opportunities in Southeast Asia.
For Kelantan Red Warriors, Otis Khan brings a mix of experience, versatility, and motivation to make an immediate impact. Fans and followers of the league will be keen to see how the winger contributes to the club’s promotion ambitions.
As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Khan and Kelantan’s progress, marking a potentially inspiring journey for both player and club.
