Moses Itauma Set for Big Fight Against Dillian Whyte, Eyes Future Clash with Oleksandr Usyk

Rising heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma is preparing for the biggest fight of his career this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as he faces former world-title challenger Dillian Whyte. At just 20 years old with 12 professional fights, Itauma is already being discussed in the same breath as undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk, with fans and experts seeing only Whyte standing in his way.

Trainer Ben Davison described the potential of a future bout with Usyk as a “win-win.” “You get the chance to face one of the best of a generation, if not the best ever in the weight class,” Davison said. “Moses hasn’t shared the ring with someone like Usyk, and honestly, I don’t think Usyk has shared the ring with someone like Moses.”

Itauma is regarded as one of the most exciting heavyweights in the sport today. While Whyte, 37, brings experience from 34 fights, Itauma’s youth, skill, and dedication make him the favorite heading into Saturday’s contest. “Moses is good enough to mix with any of them at any point,” Davison added. “We’ve prepared for Dillian to turn up at his best, and Moses is ready for that challenge.”

Despite his age, Itauma has already gained invaluable experience. He served as chief support on the massive Usyk-Fury card, showing he can handle pressure on a global stage. Davison praised his work ethic, saying, “People talk about talent, but talent is backed by hard work. Moses is one of the hardest workers you’ll find — in the gym, outside the gym, studying the sport and applying what he learns.”

Itauma himself has remained focused and respectful during media workouts. “We’re excited for this fight. Dillian is a big test, a great scalp, and a real step up for me,” he said. “I’m strong, prepared, and ready for whatever comes my way.”

With Saturday’s fight marking a major milestone, Itauma’s team is already thinking ahead. A future matchup with Usyk, though unlikely in the immediate term, remains an exciting prospect. For now, all eyes are on Riyadh as the young heavyweight looks to make his mark on the world stage.
