Security Lapse at Gaddafi Stadium as Fan Enters Pakistan Dressing Room
October 16, 2025
A surprising security breach at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium has raised concerns after a young cricket fan managed to enter Pakistan’s dressing room during the ongoing Test series against South Africa.
According to initial reports, the fan — identified as Hamza, a resident of Lahore’s Gulberg area — allegedly climbed over the stadium wall and reached the restricted area in an attempt to meet his favorite cricketer, Babar Azam.
Eyewitnesses said the intrusion startled players before security officials quickly intervened, detaining the individual and escorting him out of the area.
The Gulberg Police confirmed that a case has been registered for trespassing and entering a restricted zone, adding that the suspect’s motive appeared to be simply meeting his cricket idol and taking a selfie.
While no one was harmed, the incident has raised serious questions about security protocols at one of Pakistan’s most high-profile cricket venues, which regularly hosts international matches.
A police spokesperson stated that the matter is under investigation, and security arrangements will be reviewed to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to issue an official statement, but additional safety measures are expected for the next Test match in Rawalpindi, ensuring stricter access controls for players and spectators alike.
