PARIS: World champions Amina Orfi and Mostafa Asal continued their impressive form as both advanced to the semi-finals of the PSA Squash Tour Finals presented by TWG Global, currently taking place at Centquatre-Paris.

The tournament, being held in France for the first time, features the top eight male and female players based on the season-long Race to the Finals standings. Players have earned qualification points throughout the 2025–26 PSA Squash Tour season.

Egypt’s Amina Orfi began her campaign with a solid 3–1 win over Belgium’s Tinne Gilis, winning 11-1, 11-8, 6-11, 11-5.

Gilis entered the draw as a late replacement after USA’s Olivia Weaver withdrew due to injury.

Orfi, who recently won both the World Championship and British Open, is also in contention to become the youngest-ever women’s World No.1 depending on results in the tournament.

After the match, Orfi said she was satisfied with her performance and happy to compete in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

She will now face Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam in the semi-final after the World No.5 defeated Japan’s Satomi Watanabe in straight games.

In the men’s draw, Egypt’s Mostafa Asal booked his place in the semi-finals with a dominant win over England’s Marwan ElShorbagy.

Asal, who was forced to retire from the British Open final earlier this month due to illness, looked fully recovered as he controlled the match and produced a strong attacking performance.

He will now face Peru’s Diego Elias, who overcame France’s Victor Crouin in four games to reach the last four.

Asal and Elias will meet for the 22nd time on the PSA Tour, with Asal having won their last two encounters.
