Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Gains Confidence After Maiden T20I Fifty Against Zimbabwe

India’s young batting prospect Vaibhav Sooryavanshi says his maiden half-century in T20 International cricket has boosted his confidence after helping India secure victory over Zimbabwe in the opening match of the three-match series.

The 15-year-old produced an impressive innings, scoring 50 runs from just 19 deliveries, as India successfully chased a target of 126 with 40 balls to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

Strong Performance in Harare

The opening batter continued his good form at the Harare Sports Club, a venue where he has previously enjoyed success.

Earlier this year, Sooryavanshi played a standout innings in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup final, scoring 175 runs to help India secure the title at the same ground.

Speaking after the match, the young batter said he enjoys playing in Harare but remains focused on performing consistently regardless of the venue.

Maiden Fifty Boosts Confidence

Sooryavanshi said reaching his first T20I half-century is an important milestone early in his international career.

He explained that the innings has given him greater confidence ahead of the remaining matches and reinforced his belief in backing his natural strengths at the crease.

Learning From Early International Experience

The teenager made his senior international debut for India last month but had a challenging start during the T20I series in England.

His latest performance against Zimbabwe marks a positive step forward as he continues to adapt to international cricket.

India Take Early Series Lead

India’s convincing win in the opening T20 International has given the visitors a 1-0 advantage in the three-match series.
