Security Forces Kill Seven Terrorists in Operations Across KP and Balochistan
Security forces have killed seven terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources.
Five terrorists were killed during an operation in Bara, Khyber district, while two others were eliminated in an operation in Chagai district of Balochistan, the sources said.
Five Terrorists Killed in Bara Operation
Security sources said an intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Bara area after information was received about the presence of militants.
According to the sources, five terrorists were killed during the operation, while a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession.
The sources identified the militants as members of Fitna al Khawarij, a term used by the Pakistani state for members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
They further said that hideouts used by the militants were destroyed during the operation.
Security forces reiterated their stated commitment to conducting counter-terrorism operations aimed at preventing further attacks and maintaining security in the country.
Two Killed in Chagai
Separately, security forces killed two terrorists during an operation in Chagai district, Balochistan, according to security sources cited by state media.
The latest operations come amid intensified counter-terrorism activity in both provinces, which have experienced a number of militant attacks and security operations in recent weeks.
Prime Minister Commends Security Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces following the operations in KP and Balochistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the prime minister said the forces had demonstrated professionalism, courage and bravery during the operations.
He also said the government would continue efforts against terrorism until the threat is eliminated.
The latest developments follow several other counter-terrorism operations across KP and Balochistan this month. Security forces have repeatedly reported recovering weapons and ammunition during these operations.
Terrorism Remains a Security Challenge
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have remained key areas of concern in Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts.
Recent operations have targeted militant networks and their hideouts, while security officials have stressed the need for continued intelligence-based action to prevent attacks and disrupt militant activity.
