Italy Announces 10,500 Job Opportunities for Pakistani Workers

Italy has announced plans to provide employment opportunities to 10,500 Pakistani workers over the next three years under a labour mobility agreement between the two countries.

The announcement was made by Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Marilina Armellin, during an event marking Italy Day in Islamabad.

According to the ambassador, the agreement aims to facilitate legal employment pathways for Pakistani workers, while strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Italy in areas such as labour mobility, education, and economic relations.

She stated that the initiative reflects growing bilateral engagement and is expected to create structured opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers from Pakistan in the coming years.

In addition to employment opportunities, the ambassador also announced that 3,200 scholarships have been awarded to Pakistani students for the 2025–26 academic year. These scholarships will allow students to pursue higher education at universities in Italy.

Officials said the education initiative is part of broader efforts to expand academic cooperation and strengthen people-to-people links between the two countries.

The ambassador also highlighted Italy’s focus on improving consular services and supporting Pakistani citizens abroad, noting that the Pakistani community in Italy is one of the largest in the European Union.

The event was attended by diplomats, government representatives, and members of civil society. It featured discussions on strengthening bilateral relations in education, trade, and cultural exchange.

According to officials, the new job and scholarship initiatives are expected to enhance workforce mobility and create additional opportunities for Pakistani citizens in Europe in the coming years.
