Saudi Arabia to Help Restore Faisal Mosque in Islamabad
Saudi Arabia has officially expressed interest in supporting the renovation of the iconic Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, nearly 40 years after its completion. The landmark restoration project is set to breathe new life into one of Pakistan’s most recognized religious and architectural symbols.
🕌 A Symbol of Unity and Heritage
The Faisal Mosque, designed by renowned Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay, was completed in 1988 following a proposal made during King Faisal Abdul Aziz’s visit in 1966. Since then, the mosque has stood as a centerpiece of Islamabad’s skyline and a top attraction for worshippers and tourists alike.
Over the years, however, the structure has faced wear and tear, necessitating urgent repairs and maintenance.
