24-Hour Rainfall in Faisalabad Sets New All-Time Record

Faisalabad Records Historic 320mm Rainfall in 24 Hours

WASA teams deploy full emergency response to clear roads and assist citizens

FAISALABAD – The city witnessed record-breaking rainfall of 320 millimeters within just 24 hours, the heaviest downpour ever recorded in the history of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Faisalabad.

According to WASA Managing Director Sohail Qadir Cheema, Faisalabad experienced intermittent but intense showers throughout the day and night, which led to severe waterlogging in multiple areas.

WASA’s Emergency Response

Despite the heavy rains, WASA immediately launched special drainage operations to restore normalcy. Cheema confirmed that:

  • All dewatering sets and sucker machines were made fully operational.

  • Officers and field staff remained on the ground, actively monitoring the situation.

  • Traffic flow was restored after rainwater was cleared from key intersections and major roads.

Citizens’ Complaints Addressed

The WASA chief assured residents that the agency is working around the clock to minimize difficulties caused by the record rainfall.

“Our teams are committed to providing fast and efficient services. All complaints are being resolved on priority,” Cheema said.

The agency’s helpline and field units remain on high alert, ensuring that emergency calls and flood-related issues are addressed without delay.
