Sindh Reports 1,558 New Dengue Cases in Just 24 Hours
 October 31, 2025

The dengue situation in Sindh continues to worsen, with 1,558 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, according to the provincial health department’s latest data released on Thursday. The alarming surge highlights the growing threat of the mosquito-borne viral infection across the province.

🦟 Hyderabad and Karachi Worst Affected

Health officials confirmed that Hyderabad recorded the highest number of new cases (800), followed closely by Karachi with 758. Out of 5,742 laboratory tests conducted during this period, 4,010 were carried out in Karachi alone, reflecting the city’s heightened alert against dengue spread.

🏥 Rising Hospital Admissions

Public and private hospitals across Sindh reported 81 and 68 new dengue admissions, respectively, in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of dengue patients currently admitted to 201 in government hospitals and 180 in private facilities.

So far in October, Sindh has recorded 2,090 confirmed dengue cases, pushing the 2025 total to 2,735.

⚠️ Karachi and Hyderabad Lead Yearly Count

Karachi remains the most affected city, with 1,005 confirmed cases reported this year, followed by Hyderabad with 938 cases. The provincial health department has also confirmed three dengue-related deaths in 2025.

🩺 Health Experts Urge Caution

Medical experts are urging citizens to take immediate preventive measures, including using mosquito repellents, covering water containers, and ensuring homes and workplaces are free from stagnant water.

Officials have also advised people to seek prompt medical attention if they experience symptoms such as high fever, body aches, and skin rashes — the most common signs of dengue fever.

🌧️ Authorities on High Alert

The Sindh Health Department has directed all district health offices to intensify fogging and larvicidal activities to curb mosquito breeding. Public awareness campaigns are also underway to educate communities about dengue prevention.

Authorities have assured that adequate medicines and diagnostic facilities are available in hospitals and that the government is closely monitoring the situation across the province.
