Over 112,000 Challans Issued in Lahore Over Traffic Violations

Lahore Traffic Police Crack Down on Helmetless Riders and Traffic Violations

In a bid to enhance road safety and enforce traffic rules, Lahore Traffic Police have intensified their campaign against helmetless motorcyclists and stop line violations, issuing over 112,000 challans in the month of July alone.

The campaign, led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Roheed, focuses on improving public safety and discipline on city roads. According to the CTO, 112,000+ motorcyclists were fined for riding without helmets, while an additional 51,386 challans were issued for stop line violations.

Interestingly, the crackdown wasn’t limited to civilians—122 police personnel were also fined for not wearing helmets while riding motorcycles. The CTO emphasized that traffic laws apply to everyone equally, regardless of rank or position.

Furthermore, traffic police registered 474 cases against individuals involved in road encroachments, which continue to hinder smooth traffic flow in various areas of the city.

To ensure effective implementation, checkpoints have been established at key locations across Lahore. These are being used to monitor compliance and take on-the-spot action against violators.

The Lahore Traffic Police have urged citizens to follow traffic rules, wear helmets, and respect stop lines, highlighting that road safety begins with individual responsibility.
